«لفنه الروائي المتميز الذي يأخذ شكله الأعلى في «ملحمة أسرة فورسايت»» - الأكاديمية السويدية - من حيثيات منح «جون جالزورذي» جائزة نوبل في الأدب عام 1932نبذة«صاحب الملك» هي الرواية الأولى في «ملحمة أسرة فورسايت»، أشهر ما كتب «جون جالزورذي»، الحاصل على جائزة نوبل في الأدب. تحوَّلت الملحمة إلى عدة أفلام ومسلسلات إذاعية وتلفزيونية ناجحة، وتُعد من روائع الأدب الإنجليزي ومن كلاسيكياته الأكثر شعبية.عائلة «فورسايت» هي إحدى عائلات الطبقة المتوسطة العليا التي كانت تمتلك كثيرًا من العقارات في بريطانيا في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر. تضطرب حياة «سومز فورسايت» وزوجته «آيرين» حينما يعهد «سومز» إلى المهندس الشاب «بوزيني» ببناء بيت له خارج المدينة، إذ يتعلق «بوزيني» بالجميلة «آيرين». تطلب «آيرين» الانفصال ويرفض زوجها، فتتطور الأحداث، وتخرج عن سيطرة أبطالها بطريقة لم يكن أحد يتصورها.بسخرية ذكية، وبكثير من الرحمة أيضًا، يرسم «جالزورذي» صورة للمجتمع الإنجليزي الفيكتوري المخملي. نُقدِّمها هنا بترجمة محمد مفيد الشوباشي الأمينة والبديعة.عن المؤلفجون جالزورثي (1867-1933) روائي وكاتب مسرح وشاعر إنجليزي، سليل عائلة إنجليزية عريقة، درس القانون لكنه لم يعمل محاميًا، وقرر أن يسافر حول العالم متابعًا عمل عائلته المرتبط بالسفن. أثناء رحلاته تعرف على الكاتب «جوزيف كونراد» ودامت الصداقة بينهما مدة طويلة. من بين أعماله مسرحية «الصندوق الفضي» التي عُرضت في لندن عام 1906، ومسرحية «عدالة» التي عُرضت عام 1910، في إطار حملة لتحسين ظروف المعيشة داخل السجون البريطانية. أشهر أعماله «ملحمة أسرة فورسايت»، وهو عمل ضخم مكوَّن من ست عشرة رواية. حصل «جالزورثي» على جائزة نوبل للآداب عام 1932. تم تحويل رواية «صاحب الملك» إلى مسلسل تلفزيوني شهير عام 1967، أعاد الاهتمام مرة أخرى إلى «جالزورثي» وأعماله.عن المترجممحمد مفيد الشوباشي (1899-1972) أديب وناقد ومترجم مصري، تخرج في كلية الحقوق عام 1926، من مؤلفاته: «ألمع ساعات الحرج في تاريخ الإنسانية»، و«الأدب الثوري عبر التاريخ»، ورواية «الخيط الأبيض». كما ترجم أعمالًا لتوماس هاردي وتورجينيف وراسين وسارتر.
